slow progress is better than no progress

about a week before christmas was our deadline to remove our contingencies (which were for our home inspection and getting the loan in place). the home inspection turned up a few things that were not in the disclosures (the sewer problems, additional structural/foundation issues, the existing heat - which we plan to replace anyway - doesn’t work, etc.) so we asked for money back from the sellers to cover the sewer work and the difference in the structural estimates. now we are waiting again (for the sellers to accept, reject, or counter offer). we’re expecting them to counter…
tick tock tick tock
in the meantime, we have a court date! yea! but it’s not until feb. 5! bleh! that’s beyond the 45 day escrow (we really expected to have possession of the house *sometime* in january) but it’s out of our control, so…we wait.
in other news: we went to southern california to spend a lovely, low-key christmas with eric’s parents and brothers and have now returned to a flurry of parties…fun!
here’s to a joyful 2008 to you all!
